Indium (In) is a chemical element and the atomic number 49. Indium is the softest metal that is non-alkali metal. It is a silvery-white metal in appearance. Indium has a very low melting point at 156C. In the semiconductor industry, it is often used in soldering, and soft-metal high vacuum seals.
